Brass is Back!
Brass is back baby! After a much-needed break, brass has become a popular interior design trend for the past few years and is here to stay.
It’s no wonder brass has made its comeback. It’s very versatile, blending well with many different styles. It adds a touch of warmth and elegance to a room while not going overboard on the metals.
If you are looking for ways to add an accent of brass to a room, fortunately, there are many different ways you can. You could include it in lighting fixtures, appliances, and handles. But, if you’re not feeling fully committed to brass just yet, there are also easy, cheap, and less permanent decor ideas to bring a little metal modern sophistication.
Let’s take a look at a few ways to add brass to your space!
Lighting
Brass works wonderfully with lighting as it adds a hint of golden glamour. Whether you go for a pendant lantern that makes a statement or a 6-light staggered glass chandelier, adding brass fixtures to your lights won’t fail to ‘lighten up’ your room.
If you’re considering brass lighting in your kitchen, bring in a black color scheme to complement and create a visual impact.
Fixtures
Revamp your bathroom by adding brass fixtures. Faucets, towel racks, and cabinet handles are small ways you can incorporate brass into your bathroom or kitchen.
Frames
Brass frames are heavy and not so easy to find. But a brushed brass frame will do the trick too! Whether you’re looking for a minimalist brass mirror frame or itching to hang up the highly detailed antique frame you found, brass blends well with many colors, particularly those on the cool side of the wheel.
Brass antiques
Hit up thrift shops. These stores can be a goldmine well, a brass mine, for brass antiques like pots, vases, spoons, and trays.
Candlestick holders
Vintage candlestick holders always make me think of 1920s Old Hollywood. Why not bring a little vintage glitz and glamour to a table setting for your next party?
Last but not least, keep it understated. A small touch of brass brings an air of sophistication and leaves you wanting more.
